Job Summary :
The Corporate Tax Accountant assists the team with project management to meet internal and external deadlines for preparation and filing of tax information, responding to, and anticipating requests to ensure an efficient and timely process.
The Tax Accountant will work both internally with team and externally with third party service providers.

Qualifications and Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting
- CPA or actively pursuing CPA a plus
- Tax experience or some basic knowledge preferred
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites
- Ability to learn and to manage BOX and Microsoft SharePoint for document workflow and storage
- Ability to keep professional matters and information confidential
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
- Ability to take meticulous notes on projects / tasks
- Ability to use DocuSign for outbound tax return signing and storage
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Excellent organizational, time management and follow up skills, detailed oriented, and multi-tasker
- Excellent at prioritizing and organizing efficiently
- Professionally represents the family office by promptly and accurately meeting service needs
Essential Functions :
- Helps the team meet internal and external deadlines by proactive project management
- Manages intake, organization and follow up on information needed for the preparation of tax returns
- Organizes, monitors, and maintains tax and other confidential documents so that records and correspondence are easily retrieved and available for future reference and use.
Activities include proper labeling of scanned tax and egal documents and utilizing a workflow automation document storage process when applicable
- Provides updates on status of projects, next steps, etc to the team proactively
- Responds and processes requests for information such as providing copies of tax returns and K-1’s
- Coordinates signature of Electronic Filing Signature Authorizations and tax returns, including download of tax returns and other supporting documents
- Coordinates internal & external meetings / calls
- Coordinates transmission of tax and other documents internally & externally
- Coordinates tax payment vouchers as required
- Participates in annual tax return compliance planning with Family Office Tax team
- Drafts non-technical letters to the IRS or state taxing authorities, checks for proper spelling and grammar
- Planning and preparation for tax season tax folder roll-forwards (BOX / SharePoint), roll-forward / creation of tracking boards and checklists
- Files tax information / documents / returns in appropriate folders
- Tracks all third-party tax service agreements and invoices to ensure proper document storage, project compliance and timely payment
- Coordinates family office authorizations to release information to third parties
- Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Performs other duties as assigned
