Our client is currently seeking a Maintenance and Engineering Manager for a food manufacturing company in Greater Fort Collins, CO.
Relocation is provided to the area. Salary is $120-135k with 20% bonus
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to :
- Collaborate across departments, gain experience in diverse production areas, and continuously learn new things.
- Lead, support, and direct maintenance activities within the Greeley Value Added Facility, including plant operations, utilities (ammonia refrigeration), and training programs.
- Champion the success of our preventive maintenance program.
- Provide leadership, management, and development for a team of maintenance supervisors and a training supervisor.
- Build a strong department through recruitment and training initiatives, focusing on fundamental engineering principles.
- Partner with corporate engineering to ensure standardized and efficient engineering processes.
- Collaborate with all departments (Operations, Procurement, QA, and Shipping) to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Lead the department in technical aspects, including root cause analysis, focused improvement initiatives, and FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
- Spearhead the development of start-up plans, identifying labor needs, potential scrap production, and inefficiencies.
- Support the team in new project development, execution, technical documentation, training, and spare parts list creation.
- Partner with EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) to ensure safety and ergonomic considerations for equipment and layouts.
- Communicate effectively internally and externally, within JBS and with vendors.
We're looking for someone with :
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 5 years in the food processing industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of ammonia refrigeration, air compressor technology, variable frequency motor controls, and sanitary maintenance practices.
- The ability to work extended hours when necessary.
- Preferred experience with PSM (Process Safety Management)
- Strong people skills and the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Supervisory experience in a maintenance management role, overseeing direct and indirect reports, project administrators, and planners.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent of 5 additional years of relevant experience.
