Position : Sheet Metal Worker

Job Location : Newport News, VA

Shift : Variable, 12 : 00 AM - 11 : 59 PM, Sunday - Saturday

Number of Positions : 12 positions available

Rate of Pay : $27.31 per hour (Per diem available for those who qualify)

DESCRIPTION

Hutco, Inc. is currently seeking experienced Sheet Metal Workers to join our team in Newport News, Virginia. This role involves the installation of foundations, ventilation, bulkheads, shipboard furniture, and general sheet metal fabrication. Candidates with marine experience are preferred; however, experience in aircraft, industrial, or commercial sheet metal work is also acceptable.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience & Skills :

• Blueprint Reading : Ability to read and interpret complex ventilation assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches, including weld symbols, material types, and datum / reference lines.
• Measurement Proficiency : Competency in understanding fractional and decimal dimensions with a ruler.
• Fabrication & Assembly : Skilled in laying out, fabricating, and assembling sheet metal parts per specifications.
• Physical Demand : Experience working in physically demanding environments.
• Tool Proficiency : Familiarity with hand tools (electric drills, grinders, rivet guns) and shop equipment (drill press, press brake, shears).
• OSHA Compliance : Knowledge of OSHA regulations as they apply to the shipbuilding industry.
