Position Description :

The Department of Anesthesiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Preopertive Clinic. Responsible for evaluating and overseeing the clinical management and care of Preoperative Clinic patients while assuring high standards and efficient care across the care continuum. Participates as an active member of the inpatient pre-operative consult service. Clinical care will be conducted in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsible for answering high risk anesthesia electronic consults and appropriately triaging patients who need to be seen in clinic. Collaborate with the physician colleague(s) and other advance practice providers to ensure all outpatients, inpatients, and econsults are completed in a timely fashion.

Preferred Schedule :

Monday - Friday; Approx. 8 : 00a - 5 : 00p

Position Requirements :

Nurse Practitioner : Master's Degree in Nursing - required.

Completion of a CCNE / NLNAC-approved NP program - required.

Nurse Practitioner : Specialty nursing experience - preferred.

Surgical nurse practitioner experience - preferred. Critical care experience - preferred.

Nurse Practitioner : Wisconsin Licensure as RN and Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP).

Certification as Nurse Practitioner - required.

Physician Assistant : Master's Degree from accredited Physician Assistant Training Program - required

Physician Assistant : Physician Assistant experience- required; relevant specialty experience- preferred. Critical care experience - preferred.

Physician Assistant : Wisconsin licensure as a Physician Assistant. NCCPA Certification as a Physician Assistant - required.
