Public Works Director

The City of Evart is seeking an experienced, hands-on Public Works Director to lead a skilled team and manage the City's water, wastewater, parks, facilities, and infrastructure operations. This position reports directly to the City Manager and oversees a combined annual budget of $3.7 million.

Key Responsibilities include :

• Provide leadership and oversight for water, wastewater, parks, cemetery, pathways, buildings, and grounds.
• Operate and maintain lift stations, pump stations, and storage facilities.
• Prepare and manage asset management plans and capital improvement plans.
• Ensure compliance with EGLE, EPA, and all state / federal requirements.
• Analyze engineering and maintenance issues, recommend solutions, and manage projects.
• Coordinate with inspectors, engineers, contractors, and government agencies.
• Serve on boards / committees and represent the City at meetings and presentations.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies when needed.
