About this Role

Estimators prepare project estimates for projects ranging across all lines of business. Estimators are responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

What You'll Do

• Coordinates total estimating effort relevant to a particular bid / project as assigned
• Checks bid source files to ensure the latest information is available prior to bid day
• Reviews proposal specifications, drawings, attends pre-bid meetings, etc., to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate
• Generates RFI's necessary to establish a competitive baseline
• Performs material take-offs and mathematical calculations accurately
• Determines the type of materials, equipment, labor, and subcontractors required
• Interfaces with vendors and subcontractors for relevant information / quotations
• Identifies potential risks, opportunities, and alternative solutions
• Determines labor and equipment needed to maximize profit and efficiency
• Reviews, tracks, and records bid results for continuous improvement and history tracking
• Maintains files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current / accurate information on prices from suppliers and subcontractors
• Other related duties and projects as assigned
