The Business Operations Consultant at The Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) partners with internal and external stakeholders and provides support for daily business operations at the GRC including the fiscal management of departmental resources and external sponsor funds.
The Business Operations Consultant serves as an organizational liaison between GRC, College of Medicine, Office of Sponsored Programs, and external sponsors, with a strong understanding of fiscal processes, financial reporting and compliance.
This position will create and develop advanced reporting tools to communicate key performance indicators that will allow leadership to monitor and improve performance and reinforce strategic decision making related to GRC staff allocations, sponsor budgets, and projected staffing needs.
Collaborates with GRC IT and GRC Communications staff to develop and implement processes to improve organizational performance.
Develops and monitors processes and dashboards to convey difficult and complex data integration issues. Cultivates working relationships that support efficient fiscal management of sponsor funds and overall GRC business operations.
Reviews legal contracts and data use agreements and works with OSU staff as needed to ensure compliance with sponsor, university, and federal guidelines.
Develops Tableau reporting dashboards utilizing existing knowledge of grants and fiscal processes, develops and participates in trainings of GRC Business Office staff in Tableau, budgeting, and business operations topics.
Supports project teams and GRC leadership in development of standardized business purposes and justifications for documentation needed for specific projects.
May propose or formulate policies and processes that support efficient business operations and ensure alignment with the GRC mission, vision and its strategic goals.
Minimum Education Required :
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required.
Required Qualifications :
A minimum of six years’ relevant experience in grants or fiscal administration is required, 4 with a graduate degree. A minimum of two years’ proven experience with Tableau dashboard development.
Organizational skills and a strong attention to detail are required to be successful in this position. Requires successful completion of a background check.
Selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
Additional Desired Qualifications :
Experience with Workday processes, fiscal reporting, budget development, grants management, review and analysis of contracts, data use agreements, subcontracts and other legal documents is preferred.
Considerable knowledge of federal, state and university regulations and policies is preferred.
