POSITION SUMMARY :
Cencora is in search of a dynamic and technically skilled Senior Director of Cybersecurity Incident Response to spearhead our enterprise's defense mechanisms.
This is a hands-on leadership role designed for individuals who thrive in challenging environments—someone who can create SIEM pipelines, develop a threat-informed detection strategy, and effectively communicate during executive briefings. You will oversee global security operations, manage critical incident responses, and lead the evolution of our Security Operations Center (SOC) capabilities. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Act as the enterprise incident commander for high-severity cyber events. Drive thorough investigations and coordinate responses across legal, privacy, and IT teams, ensuring accurate executive-level reporting and briefings.
Establish and manage at least one center of excellence within the Information Security Office (ISO) to promote ongoing process improvement and standardization.
Lead and mentor teams in advanced incident response, threat hunting, malware analysis, and detection rule development.
Oversee the global security operations center (including internal teams and Managed Security Service Providers), ensuring optimal coverage, threat visibility, alert fidelity, and automation.
Direct the strategy and improve the incident response and SOC technology stack, encompassing SIEM, SOAR, and EDR tools.
Evaluate risks from all dimensions (internal and external) and provide intelligence and actionable insights to protect the corporate brand, data, and assets.
Serve as a trusted advisor on security, risk, compliance, and governance, while enabling business segment security capabilities through balanced risk assessments.
Set goals and key performance indicators, manage budgeting, and oversee the overall performance of the Information Security Strategy team.
Lead, develop and guide teams of Information Security Strategy and IT Risk Management professionals, contractors, and service providers.
Consult IT executives and business leaders on risks to information security and business operations, alongside the governance needed to mitigate these risks.
Create metrics and KPIs to regularly report on information security program maturity, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Ensure compliance reports and data are completed timely, adequately meeting regulatory timelines and requirements.
Stay informed of information security trends and collaborate with executive leadership to recommend updates and enhancements to company practices.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Certifications :
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Certification in Information Security Strategy Management (CISM)
Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
WORK EXPERIENCE :
12+ years of relevant experience, including 8+ years in a managerial role in information security.
