Bulger Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time Pack Room Attendant to join our dedicated and compassionate team in Lawrence, MA. This entry-level position is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to start or grow their career in veterinary healthcare while making a meaningful impact behind the scenes.

Schedule :

  • Four 910 hour shifts per week
  • One weekend day required

Compensation :

  • $21$26 / hour, based on skills assessment and experience
  • About the Role

    The Central Sterile / Pack Room is the hub of all cleaning and sterilization efforts that support our surgical services and patient care teams. Pack Room Attendants play a critical role in ensuring a safe and sterile environment for every procedure performed in our specialty hospital.

    This position involves collaborating with team members from various departments and is ideal for individuals who enjoy structured tasks, attention to detail, and being an integral part of a fast-paced clinical setting.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with department supervisors to maintain adequate sterile supplies for daily surgical needs
  • Clean, inspect, assemble, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
  • Disinfect and prepare surgical suites
  • Operate steam and plasma sterilizers
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance
  • Monitor inventory and expiration dates on sterile supplies
  • Conduct regular testing of autoclaves and report results
  • Disinfect linens used in the Operating Room
  • Perform detailed cleaning of the ORs, pack room, and equipment to meet hospital cleanliness standards
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned
  • Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of related work experience preferred
  • Previous experience in a veterinary or surgical setting is a plus, but not required
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in a clinical environment
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn our hospital information system
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodation
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role
