Title : Quality Control Inspector Steel Manufacturing
General Summary :
Responsible for inspecting company-manufactured products and materials to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
Reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and conducts various inspection tasks, including comparing work orders to drawings and industry standards.

They are a well-established structural steel manufacturer just West of Salem, OR.
Essential Job Functions :
- Inspect completed products to ensure adherence to quality standards and customer specifications.
- Conduct random in-process inspections on manufacturing operations.
- Report nonconformances to the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Perform final inspections on all parts and assemblies.
- Enforce weld procedures and standard repair techniques.
- Complete Nonconformance Reports to support the company's Quality system.
- Foster a team-oriented environment.
Education and / or Experience :
- High School Diploma required.
- Five or more years of manufacturing / production experience.
- Five years of quality control inspection experience.
- Direct experience with steel required.
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification preferred.
- NDT Technician Level II MT / UT Preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes.
- Ability to prepare paperwork and report problems.
- Maintains quality and safety standards.
- Ability to read blueprints and perform basic arithmetic.
- Proficiency with tape measure and protractor.
- Organizational skills for tracking inspection records.
Job Conditions :
- Flexible hours, may exceed 40 hours per week.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in QC area.

- $30-41 an hour wage based on experience and certifications

- Work in steel shop and office environments.

- Ability to interpret computerized drawings.
