The Salvation Army's New Bedford Corps. is hiring a Cook / Food Service Coordinator and offers the following benefit package to part-time employees :

Pay Range : $16.50 per hour
20 hours per week (9am - 1pm)
Responsibilities
The Cook / Food Service Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day food service operations at the New Bedford Corps. This individual must perform functions including but not limited to providing meals for programs (e.g. Feeding Program, Music Program, Seniors Program, Special Event and Emergency Disaster Services), catering and special event planning.Prepare daily meals according to planned menus, with flexibility to creatively utilize food donations.Maintain, clean, and keep the kitchen orderly in accordance with Department of Health regulations.Manage and coordinate in partnership with facilities all kitchen inspections, permits, equipment repairs and monthly cleaning.Provide social ministries with food distribution support : food inventory, food storage coordination, ordering and volunteer management.Manage volunteer partnerships.Work and meet regularly with the Social Ministries Manager / Corps Officers regarding menu planning, food service, and personnel / volunteers\' issues. Promptly relay supply and purchasing needs.Foster cooperative atmosphere in the kitchen with staff, volunteers and guests.Ensure safety, sanitation, energy management and preventive maintenance plans are in continual use.Monitor purchasing and receiving procedures to meet quality and pricing guidelines.Attend staff meetings as schedule allows.Ensure staff are trained in the safe use of equipment; arrange for equipment inspections and timely repairs.Ensure an adequate reserve of program supplies and report missing items to the supervisor.Report injuries promptly and according to procedure.Remain up to date with trainings including KeepSAfe.Perform other duties within the scope of the position as assigned.Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalentTwo (2) years\' experience in food service or an equivalent combination of training, education and experienceWork Experience
Must have training in the Food & Beverage IndustryExperience in meal preparation for various size groups, up to 300Supervisory SkillsCurrent ServSafe Manager certificationEEO and Accessibility
