Senior Network Architect Task Order : HBITS-07-14336 Agency : State of New York – Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) Location : Hybrid – Albany, NY Duration : 24 Months Rate : Depends on experience Position Overview This HBITS role designs, builds, and supports large-scale, secure enterprise networks for State of New York operations.You’ll architect solutions aligned to NYS ITS technical / security standards, troubleshoot complex LAN / WAN issues, and guide field deployments.Deep experience with Cisco (IOS), routing (OSPF / BGP), VPNs (DMVPN / IPSEC), Wi-Fi platforms, and automation (Python / Ansible) is essential. Responsibilities Architect network solutions that meet business needs and NYS ITS technical / security standards.Troubleshoot and optimize LAN / WAN hardware for DOL; analyze logs, performance, and security.Coordinate vendor and agency installs / configurations; pre-configure field devices.Review existing architecture; recommend upgrades / replacements with detailed specs.Provide L3 support for enterprise environments and update inventory in agency systems.Enforce ITS security / technology policies; remotely guide technicians on installs / maintenance. Qualifications 5 years experience configuring and troubleshooting LAN Networking equipment in a complex networking environment of at least 1,000 remote endpoints that includes switches, routers / firewalls and VPN devices.This includes troubleshooting issues using protocol analysis tools (i.e.Wireshark) and conducting in-depth analysis on network data captures. 5 years of experience in network engineering, configuring and troubleshooting DMVPN, IPSEC, OSPF, and BGP to support secure enterprise connectivity. 5 years experience with Cisco hardware and Cisco IOS software in a complex TCP / IP environment including routing, port forwarding / NAT, VPN management. 5 years experience supporting and configuring wireless network equipment from vendors such as Cisco / Meraki, Ubiquiti, Aruba. 5 years experience working with network automation tools and scripting languages, such as Python and Ansible.
