Senior Risk Analyst
The Senior Risk Analyst at MPG Operations LLC in New York, NY will provide risk coverage over the statistical arbitrage business. Work closely with analysts in other regions to quantify and report risks associated with the strategy. Partner with Business Development and contribute to interviews of prospective Portfolio Managers to ascertain fit with Millennium and to set up and manage risk limits. Evaluate portfolio construction and risk management approaches by various Portfolio Managers to determine if those are effective within the risk management framework. Closely monitor risk drivers across the portfolios under coverage responsibility and directly communicate with Business Management and / or Portfolio Managers when these grow beyond established tolerances. Perform statistical analyses to determine Profit and Loss drivers, especially to bespoke themes, such as earnings or macroeconomic variables. Utilize programming skills and related tools (e.g. R, SQL, VBA, Python, Tableau, Excel) to help create risk analytics, user interfaces and calculation engines. Collaborate with other functional groups within the firm. Deliver information succinctly to senior management. Partner closely with Risk Technology, Equities Portfolio Manager Tools, and Risk Architecture and Informatics teams to improve the infrastructure used to monitor the business. Work closely with the leader of the Equity Risk group to establish and monitor trading parameters, risk guidelines, and performance metrics for Portfolio Managers.
Salary : $96,366 - $160,000 per year.
Minimum Requirements : Requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Science, or a related quantitative field, plus 2 years in a professional quantitative analyst, or related, occupation in the financial or investment industry. Must include 1 year of experience with each of the following : (1) monitoring and managing several dozen statistical arbitrage strategies; (2) programming languages, including Python or R; (3) statistical and mathematical modeling techniques, including equity factor models; (4) analytical software and tools, including Tableau; (5) equities financial markets; (6) financial databases, including Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or FactSet; (7) building risk models that analyze statistical arbitrage strategies; and (8) collaborating with Senior Risk and Business Managers, and Technology Developers.
