Job Summary :

As a Principal Data Scientist at Medefy Health, you will spearhead our AI initiatives, focusing on the integration of cutting-edge technologies like Python, HuggingFace Transformers, LLM, and OpenAI into our health benefits technology platform.

As our first Data Scientist and a direct report to the CTO, this role offers the opportunity to shape the direction of our AI efforts and leverage a wide array of resources within the Engineering department.

Job Duties & Responsibilities :

• Design and develop multi-agent AI systems using Python, HuggingFace, LLM, OpenAI, and other technologies.
• Serve as an individual contributor in the technical development and integration of AI technologies into Medefy’s core applications.
• Lead the integration process, ensuring seamless alignment with software and data engineering efforts.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure that AI-driven projects align with the company’s strategic objectives.
• Drive the execution of projects on tight deadlines and manage the AI development lifecycle from concept to deployment.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, translating complex technical details into clear, actionable insights while indirectly leading and guiding teams involved in the integration process.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

You must have at least the following :

• Proven experience in building and deploying AI systems, particularly using Python and OpenAI technologies.
• Experience in multi-agent systems and large language models is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and lead projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.

It would be great if you have :

• Experience in the health technology space is an advantage but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and indirectly manage software development teams.
• A proactive communicator who ensures clarity in all interactions and effectively discusses complex issues with diverse audiences.
• Adept at managing multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Embraces challenges and displays a high degree of adaptability and creativity.
• Values precise and efficient communication, ensuring that ideas are expressed clearly and concisely.

Supervisory Duties : No supervisory duties.

Travel Requirements Percentage : Minimal 20% or less

Physical and Mental Requirements :

• Occasionally move inside the office to access file cabinets, office machines, etc.
• Prolonged periods of being stationary at a desk and working on a computer
• Communicating with others to exchange information via typing
• Must have close-range clarity of vision with or without corrective lens
• Ability to simultaneously address multiple complex problems; Multitask without loss of efficiency or accuracy, able to perform duties from multiple sources
• Interact appropriately with a variety of individuals including customers, clients, and vendors and under adverse circumstances
• Must maintain regular attendance and be punctual
• Must be able to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions
