Sr. Director Solutions Design
Develops leads and manages the corporate logistics solutions team to support the growth and development of logistics services across the globe. Leads solution design initiatives and pricing for $120M service offering. Participates in the evaluation of the logistics service offering and determines process improvements, and technology enhancements to drive continuous improvement. Reviews and monitors internal performance at our logistics sites and for our top clients to drive improvement. Experience designing warehouses (layouts, flow design, racking), including calculations to determine requirements of labor, capacity, pallet positions, racking, material handling systems and equipment, dock processing areas, etc. Supports our business development, commercial and vertical leaders in the pursuit of opportunities to include direct client engagement, assistance in RFP / RFQ development, solution design presentations, etc. Demonstrated ability to manage people and projects. Lead and participate on enterprise / site level projects to drive improvement / corrective action. Coordination with our pricing team on the enhancement of our costing and pricing models, relevant assumptions, and scenarios. Focuses on continuous improvement methodologies within our warehouse network, investigate and provide solutions to productivity, quality, and service delivery issues. Knowledge of warehouse management systems and operations, data analytics, Industrial Engineering principles and concepts and lean methodology. Manages multiple industrial engineering projects ensuring on-time completion according to schedule.
Physical requirements may include extended periods of sitting, computer use, standing and walking. Some light lifting may be required in some instances.
Other skills and abilities include good verbal, written and presentation skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on operational efficiency and cost control, experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and utilization tools a plus, exposure to automated warehouses a plus, exposure to latest technologies / trends in the field of warehousing ACAD, Inventory Analysis. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and experience required include a Bachelor's degree required in Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline. Minimum 7 years of experience in industrial engineering in a large-scale logistics or distribution environment. Professional certification may be required in some cases.
