The
14P Air and Missile Defense Crewmember
plays a vital role in the Army's air defense artillery team. This crew member is responsible for operating and maintaining three of the Army's surface-to-air advanced weapons systems that provide mobile, short-range air defense protection against cruise missiles and other threats.
Soldiers in this branch enlist as an Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Soldier and are assigned to a specific ADA job based on available Army opportunities and skills assessed at Basic Combat Training.
Key requirements include being a U.S. Citizen, between 17-34 years old, having a High School Diploma or GED, meeting tattoo guidelines, and possessing no major law violations, medical concerns, or issues with eligibility for a Secret Security Clearance.
Testing and certifications include 63 nationally recognized certifications available, 10 weeks of Basic Training, 7 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, and a required ASVAB Score of Operators & Food (OF). Key skills include weapons operations, detection and destruction, and defensive operations.
To excel in this position, one must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and have excellent communication skills.
