General Description
Under the direction of the Dean of the Scotch Plains and Virtual Campus, the Coordinator will advance the College's alumni engagement and post-completion success initiatives. The Coordinator will actively foster meaningful connections among alumni, students, and the College through mentoring, networking, and career-related programming. Responsibilities include providing administrative and digital support for alumni communications and events, managing the alumni database, and collaborating across departments and via external partnerships to strengthen alumni pathways into transfer, bachelor's degree completion, and career advancement. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong commitment to alumni and student success, excellent customer service, and the ability to cultivate a vibrant, connected alumni community.
Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring regular communication with the Dean of the Scotch Plains and Virtual Campus.
- Use social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) to connect with alumni and share college news.
- Maintain a College webpage dedicated to alumni.
- Answer questions and provide excellent service to alumni and others who contact the program.
- Develop and manage alumni mentoring initiatives that connect current students with alumni for guidance on transfer, career, and lifelong learning opportunities, as well as connect recent alumni with more established alumni for continued professional growth.
- Create networking opportunities (in-person and virtual) to strengthen alumni-to-alumni and alumni-to-student connections.
- Collaborate with the Transfer Transition Center, Career Services, the Foundation, Continuing Education, and other departments to strengthen alumni connections and engage alumni in supporting bachelor attainment, career outcomes, student employment opportunities, and donor relations.
- Track and report alumni engagement metrics (e.g., participation in UCNJ events, credit and non-credit programs, mentoring, employer partnerships, donations, podcast features, career growth, and salary) using the alumni database and new data platforms, ensuring alignment with institutional KPIs for post-completion success.
- Partner with academic departments and student organizations to integrate alumni speakers, panels, and networking opportunities into the student experience.
- Support outreach strategies that highlight alumni success stories across digital platforms to inspire current students and strengthen alumni pride. Contribute to alumni profiles through hosting a podcast and developing digital media highlights and features.
- Communicate with alumni through a variety of channels, including in-person engagement, phone, email, and text messaging, to ensure timely and effective outreach.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree required.Experience
Experience in advising or mentoring students through bachelor attainment and career outcomes.Experience in community colleges.Experience working with alumniCompetencies and Skills Required
Must possess strong computer skills, including proficiency in the MS Office, and CRM platforms.Aptitude to inspire and engage recent UCNJ graduates.Must be team players with excellent written, interpersonal, and administrative skills.The ability to speak in public and can work collaboratively with other campus offices, the Alumni Association, and external partnersMust be detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy, an aptitude for numbers and analysis, and the ability to approach problems proactively with a sense of urgency, creativity, and resourcefulness.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks simultaneously in a fastpaced environment.

This position's duties are normally performed in a typical interior / residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.No or very limited exposure to physical risk.Some travel required.Possess the ability to travel and drive for business purposes and work some nights and weekends.Salary
$55,135-$63,000

Terms of Employment
Full Time. Flexible schedule to meet department needs. Some evening, weekends, and extended hours may be required. Ability and willingness to travel on short notice to all on and off- campus sites as needed by the college. Overtime may be required throughout the year, especially at peak times. Employee must establish primary residency in New Jersey within one year of appointment unless an exemption applies.
