As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Bank, Digital Technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Identifies opportunities for process and tool improvements and drive those from concept to implementation
- Engineers a world-class platform with an eye towards rapid iteration and creative problem solving
- Ensures quality and completeness of the product through unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Adheres to architecture standards, risk management, and security policies
- Contributes and collaborates in creation and consumption of open, standards-based solutions, while working with existing enterprise technologies and infrastructure
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityUnderstanding of software design patterns and paradigms, such as object-oriented programming (OOP) and functional programming (FP)Expertise in hands on coding with React, JavaScript, TypeScript and other web technologies for implementing web applicationsExperience in unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testing including the use of libraries like Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Selenium, etc.Knowledge and experience with build pipelines, such as Jenkins, etc.Experience with Single Page Application (SPA) development, with page optimization (performance), and understanding of performance consideration for React or other SPA-based web applicationsExperience architecting and implementing RESTful web servicesProficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI / CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityPractical cloud native experiencePreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
