The Project Manager is responsible for exercising independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and use of standard techniques. This position takes an active role in directing and processing work for daily activities accurately and efficiently through the company systems (AutoCAD | Revit | Microsoft Office Suites).
Primary Responsibilities
- Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the Project Leadership Team
- Leads team in planning work and developing solutions to technical and design detail problems
- Establish, maintain, and adhere to project budget and schedule
- Prepares client presentations and presents design concepts and drawings
- Ensures that construction detail documentation conforms to quality assurance, quality control and Klover best practice standards
- Assures Klover document standards are met and archives documents appropriately
- Sets up project team software parameters and manages standards
- Communicates with client representatives to verify design requirements and specifications, progress reviews and delivery of final presentation
- Mentors and directs the work of less experienced staff and professionals
- Assists reporting staff to use resource materials including : Code books, architectural design practices, mathematics, building materials, and / or general construction technology to complete drawings
- Assures the overall strategy for producing documents and organizing data is followed, including incorporation of elements in the Building Information Model (BIM) or other 3D model
- Communicates with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provides support as necessary
- Coordinates use and tracks shared electronic documentation and files with project team, clients and consultants
- Assists in planning and conducting work, making minor adaptations and modifications to complete working drawing sets
- Reviews the quality of your own work and others. Uses checklists and / or research documents to support methods and practices. Reviews drawings to correct any errors / omissions prior to submittal to Studio Director and / or Principals
- Reviews projects to ensure the current designs reflect the latest changes
- Reviews the Contract and knows the scope of work to be completed. Keeps Principals and Studio Director informed when staff have been requested to perform additional services
- Writes reports and memos to consultants and vendors to issue changes and track resolutions
- Attends on-site visits, field reviews and project meetings and may prepare and coordinate the review of contractor schedules, shop drawings and samples
- Participates in team meetings to help resolve project issues, coordinate with other disciplines, ensure schedule adherence and address technical issues
- Prepares meeting minutes of consultant coordination meetings
- Takes an active role in billing procedures, including understanding project phase completion and aligning billing structure accordingly; proactively addressing issues that may delay billing before submittal
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Skills You Need to Bring With You
From a technical perspective, our ideal candidate will bring the following skills & experience with them :
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture requiredMinimum 5 to 7 years related experience in architecture and project managementArchitectural registration preferredAdvanced knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriatenessAdvanced knowledge of architectural building systemsAdvanced knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply / incorporate into technical documentsProficiency in Revit and AutoCADProficiency in Microsoft Office SuitesStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to effectively meet deadlinesMotivated, self-directed, problem solver with the ability to work in both individual and team settingsLess than 10 percent travel to local construction sitesSomething About Our Team
