Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of experience and current ARRT, BLS, and TMB certifications to work independently in a busy Level I Trauma ED.

Responsibilities

  • Position is based in a Level I Trauma emergency department
  • Work with a diverse patient population from newborns to geriatric patients
  • Shift schedule is 3x12 hour night shifts, Friday through Sunday, from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM
  • Role may require floating to related units as needed
  • Position involves performing a full range of radiology procedures as ordered
  • Duties include performing high quality radiology procedures, following established protocols and safety standards
  • Communicate and instruct patients and families to ensure understanding of procedures
  • Maintain and operate radiologic equipment and report issues as needed
  • Adhere to infection control and sterile technique protocols during procedures
  • Proper documentation and maintenance of medical imaging records is expected
  • May be required to serve as a preceptor for new staff or on new services
  • Scrub color of choice is allowed except denim
  • Returning travelers who were previously permanent employees must have their eligibility verified prior to consideration

    • Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Radiology Technologist, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting
  • Active ARRT and TMB certifications, and American Heart Association BLS required
  • Current Texas license required if applicable
  • Experience in a high-acuity, trauma-level environment is required
  • Flu vaccination is mandatory during flu season with no exemptions
  • Two professional references are required for consideration
  • Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
