Essential Job Duties :
Assist in genetics lab to collect data for gene mapping projects, isolation of candidate genes and gene validation. Works with supervisor to set up experiments and collect data on plant disease resistance and other traits in field and greenhouse settings. Performs lab duties including DNA isolation, preparing samples for DNA sequencing and gene cloning into vectors. Assists with analysis of genomic and phenotypic data to identify candidate genes underlying traits.
