ICU Nursing Job Details Job Title : ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Contract Location : Chesapeake, VA 23320 (Coastal Virginia nursing jobs) Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 8 / 2025 – End : 3 / 9 / 2026) Shift : Night shifts, 12 hours (19 : 00 – 07 : 30), 3x12 or 4x12 per week Weekly Estimated Pay : $1780 - $1910 Hours : Candidates may choose between 36 hours per week (3x12) or 48 hours per week (4x12). Overtime is billed after 48 hours for 4x12 shifts. Employment Type : Travel Nursing Patient Ratios : 1 : 2-3 Unit : ICU (must be willing to float to Stepdown, Emergency Department (ED), or MedSurg units) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Virginia or Compact RN license required BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) NIHSS certification Minimum 1 year recent ICU experience (3 years Critical Care preferred) Strong neuro nursing experience (post-neurosurgical, EVD, stroke) Proficiency in EPIC charting Must pass EKG testing (80% or higher) Willingness to float to Stepdown, ED, or MedSurg units No prior license or background issues Must reside at least 50 miles from Chesapeake facility ICU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality care to ICU patients with complex neuro, cardiac, respiratory, renal, trauma, and post-surgical conditions Manage ventilators, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation Interpret dysrhythmias and respond to emergencies Care for post-neurosurgical, EVD, stroke, and multisystem organ dysfunction patients Administer blood products and emergency medications Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response) Float to Stepdown, ED, or MedSurg units as needed for ICU-level patient care Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR Experience Chesapeake, Virginia, while excelling in a high-acuity ICU nursing job.
