Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position on a night shift with a BSN and Idaho or compact RN license required.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care hospital Telemetry unit with 27 beds, expanding to 37Patient population includes CHF, NSTEMI, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, diabetes, CAD, renal and respiratory failure, and post-cath lab patientsNurse to patient ratio is 1 : 4Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts per week (1900-0730)Weekend and holiday coverage is requiredFloating may be required to like units and Med / Surg, including other locations within the health systemEpic EMR is used in the unit; previous Epic experience preferredTele / monitor techs on the floor until June, then monitoring will become centralizedCharge nurse and house supervisor on site and non-assigned to patientsRNs will care for complex telemetry patients, including those with cardiac issues and post-cath recoveryNo titration of drips required; set-rate diltiazem and amiodarone commonly administeredRespiratory therapy manages CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow equipmentSystem onboarding with two unit orientation shifts providedAny clean, professional scrubs are acceptable for the unitNo call or standby requirementsNo block scheduling or special scheduling requests allowedPermanent employees must have a one-year separation before travelingCandidates must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facilityRequirements
Active ID or compact state RN license required at time of considerationBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) requiredMinimum of 2 years recent Telemetry nursing experience requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatoryExperience with cardiac drips, NIH stroke assessment, post-cath recovery, and chest tubes requiredAbility to read and interpret telemetry strips and document every 6 hoursExperience with SpaceLab and Philips monitors preferredDriver’s license is requiredTwo professional references needed (one supervisor within last 12 months; one peer or supervisor within last 3 years)Benefits
