Job Description :
GDIT is seeking an Network Technician / Field Service Representative to support the Automated Installation Entry system in the Ft Carson, CO.
area. This position will require some travel to other locations as needed. Must have a current and active Secret clearance.
How the Network Technician / FSR will make an impact :
- Maintains smooth operation of local area, worldwide, and virtual private networks (VPN).
- Plans, evaluates, designs, and coordinates installation and / or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and / or voice communication network.
- Maintains technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, Cisco switches, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, Windows servers 2008 / 2012.
WIN 7, WIN 10 OS, SQL and REDHAT etc.
- May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
- Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
- Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
- May coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment. May design network or portion of network that includes selection and recommendation of hardware and software packages.
What you'll need to be successful :
- Must have a current and active Secret clearance
- Network analysis experience - 3 years of experience - HS diploma or above
- IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent certification)
- Must be able read and understand schematics and designs.
- Knowledge of low voltage hardware desired.
- Experience with using Hand and Power Tools desired

The likely salary range for this position is $69,722 - $86,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
