POSITION SUMMARY : As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting healthcare providers in various medical office settings. EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION : Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with one of the following :
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program
- Certification / Registration as a Medical Assistant
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, or as a Nurse Assistant or Certified Nurse Assistant with at least 1 year of experience
EXPERIENCE : Previous experience in a medical facility is highly preferred.

Greet and prepare patients for examination in accordance with established protocols.Maintain updated patient charts as required.Document all dispensed medications within the medical records.Oversee the vaccine program in compliance with State guidelines.Ensure exam rooms are stocked and ready for the day.Monitor inventory of medical supplies and notify the Office Coordinator / Practice Manager when supplies need to be reordered.Report any issues with medical equipment to the Office Coordinator / Practice Manager.Clean and sterilize equipment and prepare surgical trays as directed by the physician.Assist providers during office surgical procedures.Conduct EKG and Spirometry tests as ordered.Communicate lab results to patients and coordinate follow-up appointments as necessary.Respond to pharmacies regarding prescription refill requests following office protocols.Prepare lab specimens and paperwork for testing as directed.Instruct patients on proper collection techniques for sterile urine specimens.Check medications monthly for expiration and dispose of any outdated items.Obtain pre-certifications for tests and treatments as needed.Coordinate referrals and outside testing as directed by physicians.Maintain a neat and organized work area.Ensure compliance with CLIA regulations through appropriate documentation.Participate in collaborative care teams as part of the Patient Centered Medical Home initiative.May be required to assist at other office locations or take on additional assigned duties.Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements.Location : The office is situated at [insert precise work address here].
