Technical Product Specialist

Job Purpose

The Technical Product Specialist is responsible for various tasks that support the understanding and positioning of DNP products. Direct support of Customers, Marketing and the Quality departments including testing, evaluating DNP current and new products as well as competitive benchmarking

Job Duties

• Perform product evaluations for customers to solve problems, assist with moving business from a competitor to DNP and validate performance of DNP products
• Participate on customer calls to help overcome objections and barriers.
• Perform product evaluations for label suppliers to validate performance of label materials and ensure that they understand DNP's solution set & support their efforts to promote our products
• Perform competitive ribbon testing & produce reports to identify potential product gaps & competitive advantages
• Understand market compliance initiatives & work to ensure DNP's formulations are marketed & sold appropriately
• Foster relationships with regulatory agencies such as UL & CSA & maintain DNP's listings
• Develop & maintain relationships with printer OEMs and update printer database
• Work with marketing to ensure application testing, compliance lists & item offerings are current
• Coordinate & share compliance & other critical product analysis with other global DNP TTR locations
• Serve as the primary contact for item setup process
• Evaluate MTO / MTS status
• Evaluate product sales and recommend adjustments to remote DC stocking levels
• Manage product introductions and discontinuations with analysis and recommended actions / replacements and communication to sales team
• Additional duties assigned by management

The employee is frequently required to talk or hear, sit, type, stand, and walk. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds

Safety Requirements

Due to the nature of the work performed in this job, the employee is required to wear safety glasses and hearing protection (Coating) when spending time in Production areas.
