businesses with strategic and financial solutions. They are seeking a  Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller to join their finance team in Cedar Rapids, IA .

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate brings a background in construction accounting and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and focus.

You will have broad responsibility across corporate and operational accounting functions — from transaction-level work to strategic financial support. This hands-on role requires someone who can dive into the details on a day-to-day basis while maintaining a big-picture mindset, helping strengthen processes and support financial decisions across multiple businesses.

This is a hands-on position that requires transaction processing, account reconciliation and financial reporting skills.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead accurate general ledger accounting, including month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial analyses
• Support and develop team members through training in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Working closely with various business units to provide financial information and analysis that support business growth
• Maintain and strengthen an internal control structure that ensures the integrity of all financial information
• Provide monthly financial support to various business units, including prepare and compile monthly financial reports; process and post journal entries and accruals; ensure expenses are recorded in the correct periods; and distribute departmental performance reports
• Analyze spending variances and ensure reported results comply with GAAP and internal policies.
• Stay current on organizational procedures, federal and state regulations, and accounting standards.
• Proactively lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across accounting processes—streamlining workflows while maintaining strong internal controls.
