Sr Data Engineering Architect, Manager

Avanade is looking for a senior data engineering architect and manager to join its Data &?AI practice. The role focuses on supporting clients by delivering data?centric solutions that drive transformative change, leveraging modern data platforms, advanced analytics, and AI engineering.

What Youll Do

As an architect assigned to a client project, work closely with delivery teams and stakeholders to provide technical leadership, shape deals, drive architectural decisions, create plans and roadmaps, and produce design artifacts.

Play a key role in Avanades sales process by creating solutions that innovate, inspire, and win new business, shaping high?level design, estimates, and contractual details for client proposals.

Provide coaching and mentoring to junior colleagues, translating complex technical concepts into audience?appropriate language and value?based outcomes.

Engage in early conversations with clients and the sales team to support origination and deal qualification, capturing requirements, recommending best practices, and building strong relationships.

Work collaboratively with the wider Data &?AI leadership to shape future offerings, accelerators, and background IP.

Drive the evolution of best practices and methodologies for AI development, including data management, model training, fine?tuning, and deployment.

Lead the development of data and analytics platforms, real?time intelligence, and reporting solutions using Python, SQL, Microsoft Azure Data Services, Fabric, and Databricks.

Maintain awareness of the latest advancements in Data and AI technologies and incorporate relevant innovations into solutions.

Identify and execute on relevant cross?industry solutions?at?scale such as data migration, automation migration, visualization / reporting, and core data platform modernization and governance.

Drive measurable and sustained growth across the Data &?AI Solution Area, integrating Data &?AI into other global solution areas.

Drive strong Managed Services and multi?year engagements for Data &?AI.

Skills And Experiences

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft and Databricks.

Experience in data, applied intelligence, automation, IoT, and related technologies.

Awareness of channels to market and how to work in a Microsoft partner ecosystem to ensure customer success.

High energy intent to help clients understand the fast?moving AI industry, product, and service evolution.

Experience working with stakeholders to create technical visions, high?level architectures, and delivery roadmaps for large programs that involve the latest AI concepts focused on scaling AI across enterprises.

Demonstrate a deep understanding of responsible data platform and migration principles, practices, and regulatory frameworks, articulating risks while delivering impactful solutions.

Capability in creating design artifacts and presenting them for approval at architectural forums attended by engineering, senior client executives, and multi?disciplinary stakeholders.

In?depth understanding of modern Data &?AI capabilities such as structured / unstructured data analysis, streaming data, IoT, AI, GenAI, and analytics fields.

Experience designing and delivering large?scale Data Platform solutions using relevant approaches (Lakehouse, Data Mesh, Fabric, Cloud?scale analytics).

Comfortable actively engaging and leading sales and business development opportunities with clients.

About You

Passionate about tech and engaging with and advising clients.

Likely possess an advanced degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, or machine learning. Avanade supports an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proven success in consultative / complex technical sales and deployment projects, architecture, design, implementation, and / or support of highly distributed applications required for large complex enterprise accounts.

Recognized for driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts, and ensuring follow?through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Chicago, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Sacramento, San?Diego : $163,200?to?$193,800

Baltimore, Boston, Los?Angeles, Seattle, Washington?DC : $168,800?to?$200,450

New?York, Bay?Area : $179,200?to?$212,800

All other cities : $151,200?to?$179,550
