Construction Project Manager, Senior - Heavy Highway

Ghilotti Bros., Inc. (GBI) is expanding a landmark +$10M site project in the South Bay. Our Senior Project Managers lead high-profile, complex projects that shape communities across the Bay Area, from major infrastructure improvements to private development milestones.

As part of our Heavy Highway Project Management team, you'll drive $30M+ of active heavy civil work across the region. The ideal candidate has proven heavy civil and Caltrans experience, with expertise in earthwork, paving, underground utilities, and concrete, thriving in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role is based at our East Bay (Pleasant Hill) office and places you at the forefront of impactful infrastructure projects in Northern California.

The Senior Project Manager oversees all technical project management responsibilities to deliver projects with quality, safety, profitability, and timeliness. Responsibilities include contracts, change orders, submittals, procurement, project financials, cost controls, billings, forecasts, and schedules. You will work closely with field operations leaders and senior management to define strategy, drive execution, and provide project updates, partnering with owners, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to deliver exceptional results.

This role reports directly to the VP of Project Management for Heavy Highway.

What a Project Manager's day could look like

• Collaborate on planning, scheduling, and successful execution of the project per design, specifications, and contracts to achieve project goals.
• Partner with owners, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet schedule, contract, and cost commitments.
• Monitor and manage costs to optimize financial outcomes for the company.
• Utilize and expand the risk and opportunity register.
• Lead and attend project meetings as required.
• Discuss potential Change Order Requests (COR) arising from owner-directed changes, unforeseen conditions, or proposed changes with the Supervisor.
• Review extra work requests and pay quantities with the owner and obtain required signatures.
• Price and submit all necessary change order requests.
• Ensure project site and company assets are secure and maintain a safe, respectful work environment by implementing safety, loss prevention, risk management, training, and quality control programs.
• Lead and mentor the Project Management Team in learning, growth, and development.
