Job Description
Saltchuk Marine is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead our accounting function. This role is responsible for producing accurate and timely accounting records compliant with US GAAP and company policies, acting as a team leader for the G / L Accounting team and supporting the business. The ideal candidate is business process focused with a strong knowledge for internal controls and is capable of influencing people and process. This is a unique opportunity to shape the accounting function as it transitions to NetSuite in 2026. The position will also have the opportunity to add responsibilities over time.
Roles and Responsibilities;
- Facilitate the accounting close process, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
- Lead a team of accountants responsible for journal entries, account reconciliations and reporting
- Maintain a network of internal controls compliant with US GAAP and company accounting policies
- Prepare and review financial statements, variance analyses, and management reporting packages
- Manage processes for intercompany accounting, fixed assets, prepaids, and accruals
- Assist with annual audit, providing necessary schedules and documentation to external auditors
- Collaborate with FP&A, AP / AR, cross-functional teams on support the record-to-report process
- Facilitate timely and accurate monthly reporting to Saltchuk Marine's parent company
- Drive continuous improvement in close timelines, automation, and process efficiency
- Support business leaders with various requests of accounting data
- Develop closing processes that leverage technology and support NetSuite implementation (i.e. process mapping, internal controls, process improvements)

Bachelor's degree in accounting required5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and / or industryCPA preferredExperience with accounting systems, internal controls and process designProficient in Excel required; experience with NetSuite preferredSupervisory experience, desiredBenefits :

Paid Holidays - Saltchuk Marine provides nine paid holidays per year.Floating Holidays -This position is eligible for two floating holidays which may be used anytime during the calendar year.Vacation - This position will accrue 15 days of vacation a year with a maximum accrual of 200 hours.Sick / Safe Leave - As a full-time employee you will accrue forty (40) hours per week earn ninety-six (96) hours of sick leave per year, up to amaximum of 1040 hours.
Bereavement Leave - Up to three paid days off for a death in the immediate family, or five days off it travel greater than 500 miles isrequired.

Compensation
Pay for this position will be between $113,172 and $169,757 annually. This position would also be eligible for our Incentive Compensation Plan bonus of 20% of base pay, subject to company and individual performance and per company policy.
