Skills and Qualifications:

• Co-op durations are negotiable, and rotations will take place during the fall, spring, and summer months following a traditional University curriculum.
• Have a degree or be pursuing a degree in a related engineering field (Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Effective communication skills.
• Be a responsible individual who takes initiative and ownership in all areas of work responsibilities.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship.
• A valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

Projects and Responsibilities:

• Create a bill of materials and develop a scope of work for construction projects based on standard drawings and templates.
• Review typical engineering drawings such as construction isometrics, process, and instrumentation, and process flow diagrams for accuracy.
• Tabulate pressure drops through standard equipment designs to assist the operational group with troubleshooting activities.
• Seek input from the construction team to refine construction manuals as needed.
• Work with the field operations team to document best practices for common maintenance procedures.
• Conduct engineering studies for system optimization projects.
• Develop standard cost metrics per project based on typical project variables utilizing historical spending data.
• Develop cost-tracking tools for active projects to assist with cost management.
• Further the design of data management storage and process systems for individual assets.

Physical Demands:

• This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
• This is largely a sedentary role; involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
• This position is primarily an office position where work is normally performed in a climate-controlled environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes, and gases is very limited. No environmental hazards are encountered in the performance of normal job duties.
• May travel between the Irving and Garden City offices at various times during the Co-Op program.
