Our client headquartered in Georgia is seeking a Principal Propulsion Engineer based at their new manufacturing facility in Roswell. The position reports to the Engineering Manager and offers a collaborative and innovative work environment with career advancement opportunities. The Principal Propulsion Engineer will lead the technical design, analysis and optimization of jet propulsion systems, contributing to the development of high-performance aircraft engines.
The ideal candidate has a proven technical and engineering background, including extensive propulsion systems experience focused on advancing aerospace technology. Possesses strong presentation, problem solving, project management, and customer-facing skills.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Design turbomachinery components for performance, durability and manufacturability at scale
- Perform structural & aerodynamic analysis to support development and resolve in-service issues
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to support NPI processes evolution and define propulsion technology roadmap
- Lead major propulsion development projects, ensuring compliance with all technical and regulatory requirements
- Create and execute test plans for propulsion systems, from component validation to performance optimization
- Provide technical oversight to ensure quality and consistency across engineering outputs
- Conduct trade studies to guide design decisions and down-selections
- Maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications and reports
Skills / Requirements
Proficient in CAD, PLM and Simulation including FEA & CFDDeep knowledge of gas turbine physics (including thermodynamics, fluids, structures & materials)Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing methods (including welding, brazing, casting & additive)Qualifications
