Shipping & Receiving Specialist
- Performs various warehousing and logistics tasks in support of the Shipping and Receiving
Activities
Utilizes the SAP system to receive in raw materials, purchased finished goods, packaging suppliesCreates and applies required barcode label(s) for incoming materials per receiving procedure.Scans and puts material away into designated storage locationsPerform various shipping and duties in compliance with company and customer specificationsAbility to understand and follow the Pick List instructions including customer requirements for pulling / staging customer orders including customer special requirementsKeeps all paperwork (shipping and or receiving related) neat and organized per processEnsures compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation and environmental regulationsAssists maintaining an accurate inventory through activities including, but not limited to double checking quantities and item codes when receiving in material and when pulling orders, reporting loss of product (raw materials, finished goods, packaging) due to spills / damage and immediately recording / reporting all discrepancies in inventory and any damaged productSupports site cycle counts and physical inventory requirements to maintain accuracy of all warehouse inventoryReports any spills or incidents that adversely impact safety or the environmentOperates a forklift in a safe manner following all departmental and plant safety rulesAssists in maintaining an acceptable level of housekeepingAccurately completes all required paperworkAssures compliance with all company policiesComplies with Corporate EHS safety and regulatory requirementsContext and Environment
Work in a fast-paced production environment where safety, accuracy and speed are essential. Simultaneous competing priorities require effective and efficient multi-tasking to succeedAbility to stand, lift up to 50 / lbs. and walk throughout workdayComfortable with the use of material handling equipment, hand tools and fork trucksUse of computer for data management and trainingAccountabilities
Maintain equipment and report issues to leadership as neededCompletion of assigned tasksUse problem solving techniques to eliminate waste and errorsAdherence to Bostik, OSHA, and local regulations / policiesRemain current on all assigned trainingQualifications / Experience Required
High school diploma / GED, ability to read English and perform basic math skills with 1-2 years' experience in a warehousing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experienceDOT / IATA / IMDG certification to handle Hazardous materials preferredMust have good interpersonal and communication skills.Must have the ability to work well with others in a team environment.Basic computer skills (Microsoft Applications)Ability to operate automated and semi-automated equipmentWilling to work an off shift and overtime as necessaryWho we are?
