Job Summary and Purpose :

The Marek’s Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production activities of the Marek’s vaccine manufacturing process, such as ensuring that all production tasks are performed in compliance with the applicable SOPs, batch records, and outlines of production, and ensuring that all team members comply with Company Safety and Quality are responsible for achieving the key productivity deliverables for their team and for the coaching, development, and performance management of employees within their team.

Responsibilities and Key Duties :

Employee Development & Leadership :

• Models Company leadership principles and inclusive behaviors.
• Provides coaching and supports skills development and process capabilities within the Focus Factory.
• Is responsible for providing effective feedback and coaching within the team during the Performance Management cycle and ensuring that Employee Development Plans (EDPs) are in place.
• Is accountable for ensuring all operators receive appropriate training for all assigned tasks.
• Is accountable for the effective performance management of individuals in their teams.

Safety Compliance :

• Demonstrates a strong compliance mindset (EHS, Quality, and Finance) and continuously sets a high standard for themselves and their that all staff adheres to the Company Safety and Waste Management Policies.
• Ensures that they and their team follow safe operating instructions for all tasks and equipment.
• Ensures that the right tools and equipment specified for the task are available and utilized.
• Ensures that the correct personal protective equipment required is available and utilized.
• To follow up on any reported defects or workplace hazards immediately.
• To report all accidents, incidents, and near misses within 24 hours and to participate in the investigation and identification of effective corrective and preventative actions.

Quality Compliance :

• Supports the on-time completion of Quality compliance tasks in relation to Deviation, CAPA, and Change Control management.
• Supports all aspects of Quality Assurance including cGMP, RFT, and good documentation practices, and provides coaching to the rest of their team.

Productivity :

• Is accountable for the weekly and monthly schedule adherence of production activities within their department.
• Contributes to creating a culture of continuous improvement and leads by example.
• Sponsors effective problem-solving and ensures that resources are available.

Financial :

• Is responsible for meeting the agreed departmental budget for Spend, Production Activity, Discards, and Headcount.
• Recognizes and investigates opportunities for financial savings.

Qualifications :

Education - Bachelor's degree in a scientific field ( chemistry, general biology, cellular biology, microbial biology, etc.

or at least 4 years of experience in a related field

• Work Experience Minimum of four years’ experience in the biologics industry; two or more years of managerial / supervisory experience in the biologic / pharma industry preferred.
• Other (consider certifications, specialized knowledge and / or training, etc.) - Knowledge of Quality Systems; investigations / CAPAs / performing gap assessments

Physical Requirements :

• Able to read, write legibly, and communicate in English
• Frequent repetitions of squatting, bending, and twisting
• Dexterity : Frequent fine motor movement
• Lifting 50lbs
• Standing for approximately 85% of the day
• Daily dressing and operating in a clean room required garments and PPE
• Frequent repetitions of wrist and shoulder rotations

Working Conditions :

• Cleanroom manufacturing environment
• Ability to work flexible and sometimes long hours
