Outside Sales Parts & Service Representative
Stewart & Stevenson Power Products is now hiring an Outside Sales Parts & Service Representative. The position is based in Commerce City, CO, and is responsible for selling parts and services for the on-highway trucking, fleet delivery, construction, mining, oil, and gas well services, emergency services, and industrial machinery industries in an assigned territory to achieve maximum sales profitability and growth. The territory area will be the Denver, CO and Commerce City, CO.
Responsibilities include generating new customer accounts as well as servicing and maintaining existing accounts. The role requires analyzing customer needs and interests to determine how company products and services can best meet their needs. The position aims to achieve sales goals and forecasts, assist in marketing and sale of new products and / or prototypes to the existing marketplace, and review completed jobs for variations in component costing. The role also involves interfacing with other departments, including engineering, manufacturing, production, and purchasing, to oversee project development and ensure timely delivery of finished products. Additionally, the position monitors sales orders to ensure project costs, materials lists, and delivery schedules meet project specifications and deadlines. The role computes installation or production costs and prepares and submits bid specifications to existing and potential customers for review. It also involves negotiating proposals and sales and service contracts with customers, establishing, maintaining, and developing business, social, and networking relationships with individuals within the petroleum industry, planning and organizing sales strategy, expediting the resolution of customer problems, issues, or complaints, ensuring strong, effective market share of the products and services by providing direction and information on the products and related services, attending sales and trade meetings and reading related publications to obtain current market condition information, business trends, and industry developments, demonstrating and explaining the use of installed equipment and production processes, arranging for installation and test-operation of machinery and recommending solutions to product-related problems, evaluating sales performance results, providing management oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, market situation, competitive activities, and potential for new products / services, and conducting all business transactions in an ethical manner.
Qualifications include the ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word, the ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely, the ability to demonstrate conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards, the ability to focus on a goal and obtain a pre-determined result, the ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace, the ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals, the ability to effectively present information publicly, the ability to effectively build relationships with customers and co-workers, the trait of being dependable and trustworthy, the ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of ones ability using his or her own drive or initiative, and the ability to convince a group of people to work toward a goal. Education / Experience : High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) and three to seven years related experience. Computer Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Prior experience with Oracle preferred. Other Requirements : Ability to build strong presentations for customers and present them in a clear and concise manner. Must follow company pricing guidelines and procedures. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the position, location, and / or customer. Physical Activities & Requirements : Standard Office Criteria Working Conditions : Office environment, on-site at customers place of business, and occasional hop / manufacturing environment exposure.
Salary is $44,200.00 plus 8% commission on gross profit for parts and service, this position will also include $650.00 car allowance. As part of your sales role, you are eligible to participate in the On Highway Sales Commission Plan. You will placed on a commission guarantee for 6 months and each month you will receive a guaranteed commission of $2,500. If in any month, you exceed the guarantee in payable commission, you will receive your commission amount. Should your commission for a given month be less than the guarantee, you will still receive the guarantee amount for that month.
