Senior Business Analyst

Our IT Senior Business Analyst works with various business partners and IT staff to facilitate requirements gathering, elicit requirements and document requirements.

Our IT Senior Business Analyst is an active member on projects and is responsible for delivery of analysis work on assigned projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Partners with business units across the organization to identify business needs and solutions.

Responsible for delivery of business-analysis related commitments based on agreed upon project schedule

Rapidly understands and negotiates needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders

Collaborates closely with developers to implement the requirements, provides necessary guidance to testers during QA process

Prepares change requests for review and approval

Elicits and clearly document business and systems requirements defines use cases, functional and non-functional requirements and activity diagrams for both traditional Waterfall and Agile delivery methods

Collaborates with testing teams to ensure traceability to requirements.

Elicits and clearly documents business and system requirements

Other duties as assigned or as situation dictates.

JOB REQUIREMENTS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :

Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to facilitate working sessions and communicate fluidly across a variety of audiences.

Experience with Insurance integration requirements and standards (e.g., ACORD, Upload, Download)

Can develop integration specifications (e.g., data mapping, XML structure, data type resolution, state management requirements, etc.)

Demonstrated ability to understand customer business needs and translate them into technology requirements.

Proven track record of delivering within deadlines and driving issues to closure

Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to interact with various levels of management

Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities

3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst

5+ years of experience, in Information Technology discipline..

Experience with variety of development methodologies including Agile, Waterfall and Iterative Kanban

Can develop / write requirements in traditional requirements templates, EPICs, Stories, and Interface definitions

Self- motivated and pro-active

Strong organization skills

Familiar with the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) and its guidelines for accepted practices

PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED :

Knowledge of Workers Compensation Insurance

Experience with JIRA Issue tracking software for Epic, Story, and Requirements management

Experience with Confluence collaboration
