Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For :

If you are looking for a collaborative work environment where you’ll have the opportunity to be part of a team on the forefront of one of the most advanced satellite constellations in the world, then you will be excited about joining Iridium for a Space Development Agency (SDA) project.

Iridium is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, and disciplined Earned Value Management (EVM) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to drive EVM operations and manage program cost and schedule inputs within the EVM Cost Tool.

This opportunity collaborates directly with the Program Management Leadership and interfaces with multiple Program Managers (PM) to facilitate effective and efficient cost and schedule data integration, validation, and analytics.

You will thrive in this role if you consistently deliver high quality work, anticipate program needs, and independently drive projects to completion.

What You’ll Do :

  • Play a key role in program establishment and planning
  • Develop program control account and work package data structure
  • Work with Control Account Managers (CAM) and PMs to establish budget and update forecast targets
  • Manage the process of importing schedule and resource data into the cost tool
  • Facilitate monthly business rhythm activities
  • Analyze Estimate at Completions (EACs)
  • Uncover flaws, problems, risks in data or projects by asking strategic questions
  • Be responsible for conducting data quality, validation, and DCMA EV Compliance Metric (DECM) checks
  • Directly support variance analysis reporting and improve upon variance analysis process
  • Establish appropriate change management and control principles
  • Mentor and train team members on the operations and tools of EVM

Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

What You’ll Need to Succeed :

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical major or related field
  • 12+ years of relevant experience, preferably within the Aerospace or Telecommunications fields
  • Expertise using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Deltek COBRA, and Deltek MPM or similar EVMS tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey products, deliverables, analyses, and / or issues clearly and confidently, and confidently recognize and adapt to different communication techniques
  • Be a strategic thinker who demonstrates good judgment and decisiveness
  • Be able to analyze a situation or problem and come up with effective solutions
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic environment by handling multiple tasks according to deadline and budget limitations
  • Be proactive in finding new and enhanced ways of doing things and sharing your knowledge with others
  • Capable of prioritizing your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are met

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification
  • Earned Value Management Institute (EVMI) Certification

Work Environment :

This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer.

The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
