Collections Specialist (Medical Billing)

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our collections team. The ideal candidate will have experience with insurance claims and billing, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $20 to $24 per hour.

Key Responsibilities :

• Review and evaluate insurance policy data to ensure proper claim processing and payment
• Spearhead debt collection efforts
• Actively work on and manage insurance AR to resolve outstanding or denied claims
• Skillfully operate the billing system
• Prepare and submit claims as needed, and rectify claims in a timely fashion if necessary
• Prepare materials to be sent to insurance companies, as directed
• Track and follow up on unprocessed claims in a timely manner
• Create and submit appeals, along with required documentation
• Communicate with clients to collect unpaid account balances, issue statements as necessary
• Protect patient care and business information from unauthorized disclosure
• Keep accurate and detailed records
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
