$2,400 to $2,625 per week

About The Position

1. Assessment and Diagnosis :

Evaluate students who are referred for possible speech, language, voice, or fluency concerns.

Use formal and informal assessments to identify communication disorders.

Determine if the student qualifies for speech-language services under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).

2. Intervention and Therapy :

Provide direct therapy to students with :

Articulation disorders

Language disorders

Fluency disorders

Voice disorders

Social communication disorders

Work with students individually or in small groups, depending on needs.

3. Collaboration : Work closely with :

Teachers to support classroom learning and adapt materials

Special education staff to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Parents to support communication goals at home

Other specialists

4. IEP Development and Implementation :

Write speech-language goals as part of the IEP.

Monitor and document progress.

Participate in IEP meetings and help guide educational planning.

5. Prevention and Early Intervention :

Screen young children for early signs of communication delays.

Provide strategies to teachers for preventing academic problems related to speech-language issues.

6. Advocacy and Education :

Educate staff, students, and families about communication disorders.

Promote awareness and reduce stigma around speech and language difficulties.

Job Requirements

Requirements :

WA SLP license, ESA, C's

Valid Washington State driver’s license

Ability to travel between children’s homes and other job related locations during the work day

• Will expedite the ESA

School Base Experience preferred but not required. The school will review candidates and decide how to move forward

7.5 working hours (37.5 hours weekly)
