About The Position

Job Title : Surgical Technologist

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in a hospital setting

License : Certification required

Certifications : BLS from AHA only

Must-Have :

• 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience in a hospital setting
• Open Heart & Thoracic procedures experience

Description :

Provide direct patient care under the supervision of the surgeon and the circulating Registered Nurse.

Efficiently set up surgical cases in multiple specialty disciplines.

Provide equipment and supplies based on patient needs and surgeon preference.

Demonstrate technical skills related to creating and maintaining a sterile field.

Perform instrument, sponge, and sharp counts.

Assist other OR staff according to patient safety and direct patient care policies.

Function as a resource person for newly hired Surgical Technologists and surgical technology students.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Must possess significant experience in Cardiothoracic Surgical Technologist roles in a hospital environment.

May be required to work differing schedules or shifts based on patient requirements.

Stand and walk most of the time on duty.

Lift and push patients and equipment.

Must have a strong working knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, sets, and equipment.

Work with contaminated instruments and equipment.

Adhere strictly to Universal Precautions.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional high-stress situations.

Be available for on-call shifts.
