Travel Nurse RN - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit - $2,012 per week in Asheville, NC

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : RN Specialty : CVICU Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Shift Hours per Shift : 18 : 45 - 07 : 15 Experience : Minimum 1 year in critical care License : Active RN license required Certifications : BLS, ACLS Must-Have : Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. - Critical Care training - 2 years CVICU or CVRU experience - A love for surgical heart care - High energy, upbeat personality Description : This unit is a 19-bed mixed unit specializing in critical care. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2 or 1 : 1 depending on acuity. Hold-over downgraded patients may experience a ratio of 1 : 3. The unit is staffed with highly trained charge nurses who assist with any issues. An educator will guide nurses through orientation on the unit. The unit has 13 day shift RNs and 11 night shift RNs, along with a nurse aide on all shifts. Approximately 850 heart surgeries are performed annually. Core nurses receive training in critical care, heart care, recovery, and various devices as they progress in their careers. An ECMO team nurse is available for those in need. Common procedures include IABP, Impellas, and LVADs care. This is a high acuity and friendly unit dedicated to providing excellent patient care. The unit uses GE monitors and a Cerner EMR system. The ideal candidate will have a high energy, friendly demeanor, a passion for learning, and experience in critical care or cardiac recovery. Floating Area : Floating to all ICUs and Stepdown units as needed. Dress Code : Navy blue or white scrubs, nursing shoes, hair off shoulder, no artificial nails.
