Responsibilities Work in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) within a hospital setting Patient population includes critically ill neonates requiring intensive care Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30 Every other weekend or as needed weekend coverage is required Floating to PICU and CTICU may be required based on census EPIC is used for documentation and charting First-time travelers are accepted if they have over 2 years of NICU experience Pre-approved time off must be included with submission and is limited to 5 days with holiday RTO at manager's discretion Candidates may be required to complete modules prior to start, including approximately 8 hours of EPIC training Locals are accepted at the local rate if residing within 50 miles of the facility No on-call requirements for this position Compliance with hospital dress code required Requirements Active CA RN license in hand is required At least 2 years of recent NICU experience required Current BLS and Advanced NRP certifications required Proficiency in NICU III skills including phototherapy, tube / gavage feeding, blood products, PICC, and peripheral line management Experience with anti-seizure medications, caffeine, vasopressors, neonatal abstinence, phlebotomy, Bubble CPAP, HFNC, and ventilators Must provide one professional reference within the past 2 years No record of Nursys disciplinary action allowed Former permanent staff are not eligible for this position Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-621369.
