Description :

Travel nursing position in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.

The unit has a total of 20 beds, with 10 pre-operative and 10 PACU beds.

There are 17 staff members working across both departments.

Day shifts are staggered, starting as early as 5 : 30 AM, with the last staff member arriving at 2 PM.

The unit is staffed until 9 : 30 PM.

Night shift call shifts are required, with one nurse designated for call only from Monday to Thursday nights.

Patient-to-nurse ratios are 2 : 1.

The main equipment used includes Phillips monitors, and the EMR system is Meditech.

Candidates must possess current certifications in BLS and ACLS to be considered for the role.

Preferred candidates will have experience with Meditech.

The unit handles a large variety of surgical cases, including complex surgeries.

Patients requiring ICU care will be transferred directly to ICU, unless it is at capacity.

Staff are expected to be flexible and work between both units.

A positive work environment is emphasized, with a focus on team collaboration.

The team consists of exceptional nurses who are noted for their high function and collaboration between units.

Increased staffing needs exist as several nurses are currently out on medical leave ahead of the busy season.
