About The Position

Must-Have : Strong Neuro checklist experience, Stroke experience required

Description :

Looking for a registered nurse to work in the Neuro ICU.

The nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients with neurological conditions.

Patient ratios are 1 : 2.

Every other weekend shift is required.

Floating to ICU and Med Surg units is expected.

COVID-19 and flu vaccinations are required, with exemptions for medical or religious reasons.

ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.

Experience with managing arterial lines, ventilators, and performing venipuncture is essential.

The nurse should have experience in CNS monitoring and care for ventilated patients.

Duties include administering blood products, central line care, and managing continuous intravenous sedation.

Knowledge in interpreting arterial blood gases and managing dysrhythmias is needed.

The candidate should be familiar with isolation precautions and infection prevention measures.

Experience with post-neurosurgery management is required.

Additional skills in managing high flow nasal cannula and performing procedural sedation are beneficial.

The team collaborates with various interdisciplinary support services for comprehensive patient care.

The unit sees patients with conditions such as traumatic brain injuries and post-operative needs.
