Firefighter-EMT & Firefighter-Paramedic
The Shawnee Fire Department is a dedicated workforce striving for excellence in community safety and emergency services. The Department is an all-hazard emergency and non-emergency services provider with career personnel. The Department is actively accepting applications for Firefighter-EMT and Firefighter-Paramedic. Daily routines include performing tasks related to fire prevention, suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services under conditions frequently involving considerable danger. All interested candidates must submit all of the required application materials as attachments in order to be considered. Pay for Firefighter-EMT begins at $52,326 and pay for Firefighter-Paramedic begins at $57,558. The City also offers lateral pay up to $75,440 for Firefighter-EMT and up to $82,984 to Firefighter-Paramedic.

Work Schedule :
This position is scheduled for shift work based on a 28-day work period that includes a regular pattern of 24-hour shifts. Employees are occasionally required to remain after a normal shift has ended if an emergency exists or if necessary to carry out normal and essential services of the city and is assigned by the supervisor. This position is subject to call in 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist in emergency situations and cover staffing shortages. Other overtime may be required for training and special projects.

Hiring Timeline :
