Must-Have :

Description :

The Acute Care Radiology Technologist provides health care services and X-Rays to assist in diagnosis or treatment.

Performs X-Ray procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner.

In addition to essential functions, the technologist will have on-time completion of all required education assigned per relevant requirements and policies.

Is responsible for performing radiographic exams as requested by all healthcare providers.

Assists radiology nursing with fluoroscopically guided procedures.

Completes necessary documentation for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.

Retrieves written orders and related health information.

Participates in implementation and monitoring of quality indicators.

Educates radiography students, new hires, and radiology techs on relevant diagnostic and operative guidance exams.

Demonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times.

Exercises tact, discretion, and sensitivity, maintaining confidentiality.

Learns current and new computer applications utilized in the role.

Demonstrates strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Analyzes, organizes, and prioritizes work while meeting multiple deadlines.

Works varied shifts as scheduled or needed.

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to support 50 pounds of weight and lift 50 pounds.

Position may involve working extended hours, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.

Flexible schedule may be necessary, including weekends and after-hours shifts.

On-call work may be required to respond to organizational and patient needs promptly.

Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies.

Ability to handle challenging situations, including dealing with upset individuals.

Role may involve performing repetitive tasks necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.

Job tasks may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, and various healthcare-related substances.

Responsible for handling cleaning products and disinfectants.

May encounter emotionally challenging situations, such as dealing with distressed patients or difficult family interactions.
