Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a DC RN license and advanced certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit
  • Patient ratio of 1 : 2
  • Shift options include 12-hour day or evening shifts (6 : 30-19 : 00 or 11 : 00-23 : 30)
  • Must work 4 weekend shifts per contract
  • Scrubs are provided
  • On-campus parking is available after evening shifts
  • Circulating is a required skill; scrubbing and C-EFM certification are preferred
  • Pre-start modules and orientation are required and can vary by specialty
  • Returning staff must have a minimum 1-year gap in prior MedStar employment to be eligible
  • Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate
  • No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract, and no time off in the first two weeks

    • Requirements

  • Active DC RN license required; pending license accepted but must be active prior to start
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment required
  • Certifications required : BLS, NRP, Advanced AWHONN
  • Must register for C-EFM certification during compliance or within the first two weeks of assignment
  • Intermediate AWHONN and circulating experience required
  • Two supervisor references required
  • Flu vaccine required
