Kinsa is recruiting for a : Director, Research & Development Food Ingredients
POSITION PURPOSE :
Our client is a global leader in science based food ingredients. The Director of Research & Development is responsible for all research, product development and formulation activities from conception to commercialization.
This position reports directly into the company President of North America.
The position establishes the scientific and strategic basis for research and development in the food industry and is responsible for setting the strategic direction for product development and commercialization activities in conjunction with the marketing, regulatory and business development functions.
The role of the product development and commercialization function is to combine strategic foresight in developing solution-based products as well as being nimble enough to respond quickly to industry needs.
Compensation / Benefits :
- $180,000 $230,000 compensation range

Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the team in identifying new research areas for development of new and existing products
- Focus and prioritize core business projects and assume responsibility for their success in the Product Innovation Process
- Support sales and technical services with customer visits (in-person and remote)
- Develop strategies; establish tactics and priorities and implement plans for successful completion
- Coordinate novel research to identify new opportunities as well as support the improvement and application of current products
Qualifications :
- Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry or comparable discipline with PhD in Organic Chemistry or Biochemistry preferred.
- 8+ years of experience leading scientists or R&D teams
- Experience in the human food technologies is preferred
- Proven track record of accomplishment in product commercialization by developing and taking products based on new technologies successfully to the market.
- A business-orientated technologist with a commercialization focus, who is able to provide leadership, set priorities, delegate responsibilities, and meet timetables leading to the attainment of goals.
