Patient Access Specialist
The Patient Access Specialist functions as an integral member of the team and is the first point of contact for all persons inquiring about the providers practice. The primary role is to organize the practices daily activities and paperwork.
This position is full-time, Monday-Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 9 : 00 AM - 5 : 30 PM PST (Pacific Standard Time zone) including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.
Primary responsibilities include : verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, obtaining referral, authorization, and pre-certification information, identifying outstanding balances, training staff on computer systems, and performing the duties of a Patient Access Representative.
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of customer service experience, and 1+ years of electronic health record experience. Preferred qualifications include experience with prior authorizations, using Microsoft Office products, and working knowledge of medical terminology.
Telecommuting requirements include having a dedicated work area, keeping company sensitive documents secure, and having access to a high-speed internet connection.
Soft skills required include strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, Washington, New York, or Rhode Island Residents Only : The salary range is $16.00 - $31.44. Pay is based on several factors including education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
