Dow Jones is hiring : Social Video Internship in New York

Are you a driven, student journalist eager to work in an award-winning newsroom before your senior year? The Wall Street Journal Social Video internship offers an unparalleled opportunity for college juniors to gain practical work experience in our award-winning newsrooms in New York with mentorship and tailored training sessions. Graduate students enrolled in a degree program by the application deadline – October 31, 2025 – who are returning to school in the fall are also eligible to apply. You will :

Work with our team to produce vertical videos for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat. Be involved in all steps of production : conceptualization, reporting, scripting, shooting, editing and distributing. This team works directly with reporters and editors around the newsroom, as well as our video team to create engaging short, social-first breaking news and original videos.

We are looking for ambitious students who think foremost about the audience and are able to work independently under deadline pressure. You don’t need to be a business or economics expert, but a commitment to high journalistic standards and excellent video editing skills are a must. You should have experience with video editing software, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Adobe InDesign and / or other relevant tools. Animation skills are a plus, and so is comfort being on-camera. You should also have deep knowledge of video-driven social platforms.

You should have completed at least one prior journalism internship with another professional media organization or published exceptional work with a campus news outlet or as a freelancer.
